Multi-Media Filters

Media filtration is one of the most reliable methods for removing suspended organic and inorganic solids from water. Corodex media filters operate on the same basic principle as nature’s groundwater filtering process, where unfiltered water passes through filter media and suspended particles are retained.
Corodex filters are available in epoxy-coated steel or fiberglass construction materials, with automatic or manual operation and backwash options. Manual plastic or cast-iron valves, electrically actuated valves, and automatic top-mounted or side-mounted heads can be provided, along with stagers and air-operated diaphragm valves.
Upon request, steel pressure vessels can be supplied in vertical or horizontal configurations, as single units or multiple parallel units.

Types of multi-media filters include:

  • Multi-media sand filters for reducing total suspended solids.
  • Activated carbon filters for removing organic matter, certain contaminants, and chlorine residual, and for improving aesthetic qualities such as color, odor, and taste.
  • Greensand/manganese filters for removing iron and manganese.
