EfloSAF

The Corodex EfloSAF is a high-rate biological treatment process based on the submerged aerated biofilter principle. It uses a fixed-film process that promotes attached biological growth.
The system is designed to achieve a final effluent quality of 10/10/2 in terms of BOD₅/TSS/N-NH₃. The high-rate biological oxidation process is performed using an efficient submerged aerated filter with a very high specific surface area.
The EfloSAF process flow includes the following:
  • Incoming sewage is lifted by a pump at the average flow rate and delivered to the Biozone Submerged Aerated Filter.
  • Biologically treated liquor discharges from the Biozone to a secondary settlement tank.
  • Biologically treated liquor flows by gravity through the final settlement tank.
  • Final effluent discharges from the settlement tank to a chlorine contact tank.
  • Treated sewage effluent is filtered through pressure sand filters before final discharge or reuse.

Advantages of the EfloSAF Submerged Aerated Filter:
  • Small footprint
  • Low sludge production
  • No moving parts
  • High efficiency
  • Stable, high-quality effluent of 10 BOD and 10 TSS
